Hyroglifics has been a stalwart of the Critical roster following his debut Binary Vol. 1 release in 2014 and hasn’t set a foot out of place since. Building on a faultless back catalogue, 2019’s Stone Rose EP and 2020’s Best Of EP both represent his unflinching dexterity in drum & bass production, turning his hand from tender musicality to dancefloor-charged heavy hitters with a rare and enviable finesse.

This is an artist with a sharp and distinctive sonic identity, completely at home in drum & bass but just as comfortable outside of it. His and Sinistarr’s collaborative EP for Naina and Sherelle’s Hooversound imprint demonstrates his ability to sculpt his sound into exciting new shapes.

Now in 2023, he continues to stay one step ahead with an output so consistent that everything with his name on is guaranteed to impress. Hyroglifics has proven his place and further develops his musical voice with each passing year, an inimitable artist with an undeniably promising future ahead.

Heisty is here to amplify sound system culture. He is the co-founder of Sublimate records based in Portland, Oregon. Heisty serves as curator for Sublimate’s genre-bending mix series and resides behind the decks at the labels live events. His 8 years of experience have resulted in guest mixes for labels and radio around the country and abroad. He has performed at club nights and festivals all across the west coast and beyond. Heisty continually crosses the spectrum of sound system flavors while delivering a dance experience unlike most you’ll find elsewhere.

You know the thing about Penny Wide Pupils, she’s got lifeless eyes. Black eyes like a doll’s eyes. When she comes at ya, she doesn’t seem to be living until she bites ya and those black eyes roll over and white and then… ah. Then you hear that terrible low bass thumping. The crowd turns red and despite all the pounding and hollering, she comes in and rips you to pieces.

Y’all know her. Know how she earns a livin’. She’ll play this bird for ya, but it ain’t gonna be easy… Bad Bass. It’s not like going down to the club chasin’ blue gills or tommy cots. This shark – swallow ya hole. L’il shakin’, l’il tenderizin’, down ya go.
